HOW I GOT INVOLVED
They needed a tech-savvy 3D designer who could bridge creativity with innovation.
Right after I finished a 3D animation for Borealis, one of their partners reached out. They had recommended me to a digital experiential marketing company that needed a strong 3D artist for a unique project.
We met at their Toronto office. There were eight people in the room: designers, marketers, tech leads. After the intros, they showed me their challenge. They wanted to create something like Human One as a high-end interactive experience for their clients.
Their in-house team had spent weeks on it but couldn’t get it to work the way they envisioned.
I saw the potential right away and said,
“I can make this happen.”
This was exactly the kind of creative tech challenge I get excited about.
HOW I APPROACHED
I created a 3D World inside a 3D world
I had no idea how that worked frankly, I just knew it can be done.
I tried a few methods that didn’t work then I decided to create a virtual box that represents the real build and I created a 3D animation inside it to test my hypothesis.
Here is my first phone recording that I used to explain to their Creative Director the mechanism and what needs to be done.
I asked their Tech people to gather 4 screens and a computer with the right specs and a constant speed rotation motor. While they were building the prototype I was working on solving the mystery.
HOW I GOT INVOLVED
I Copied “Human One” scene for my tests
Human One was impressive. My mission was to replicate this multi-million dollar, one-of-a-kind artwork for an interactive marketing experience.
I started by creating a demo using a free character model from Mixamo and a basic walk cycle. I branded the scene with my client’s identity, Commersive, and focused on getting as close as possible to the look and feel of Human One.
To test the visuals properly, I built a simple 3D environment with contrasting elements. I placed metallic bars at the top and colorful organic grass at the bottom. This helped me study how different surfaces reacted and how immersive the final piece could become.

I took this video with an excitement, when it worked good enough for the first time, I wanted to yell “IT”S ALIVE!” …you know, like in the movie.

After my simple walking 3D animation worked successfully, I started testing with the real project which I’ve been asked to showcase a lot of effects that make you feel immersive so I designed a smoky atmosphere and added lots of lights into the scene.
Maybe too much smoke effects… but in person it worked. It was a really immersive experience.

This Immersive experience do not work 360 degrees unfortunately, so I designed a structure not only can be foldable for easy installation but also can hide the back and the sides, so experiencers are forced to look from a certain designated area.
