Section 01

The idea

Brand anchor · Value

Pricing, packaging and monetization advisory. Closing the gap between the value a business creates and the revenue it earns.

Miller Advisors helps companies close the gap between the value they create and the revenue they earn. The brand anchor is one word: Value. Every visual decision signals worth, precision and confidence, and none of them shout.

A disciplined, high-contrast system built on a deep indigo that reads calm, expert and credible, with a single confident orange accent. The orange is the spark of ambition, and it works because it is rare. Used everywhere, it turns loud, and loud is one of the things this brand explicitly is not.

The layout language is structured and gridded rather than decorative. Clarity comes before ornament.

The mark

The M monogram is two halves meeting: an indigo stem and an orange form. The orange form also reads as an A for Advisors, which is why it stands alone as the Advisor icon. Two halves meeting is the brand's promise drawn as a shape: value and price aligned.

Signature devices

  • The divider page. Full indigo bleed, a thin orange spine at the left edge, a large outline numeral bleeding off the top right. Client-approved on 2026-06-30 as the signature of the system.
  • The outline monogram. A stroke-only M used as a quiet watermark, never as the identifying logo.
  • The result stat. Case studies lead with one large orange number.
  • The indigo ramp. Process graphics step through indigo tones from deep to light, with orange number chips.
  • The colour-block footer. Indigo, indigo, Outline Indigo and one orange box, with Miles standing in the orange box.
Logo system

Use the master files. Always.

The M monogram is built from two interlocking forms: an indigo left stem and an orange right form. The orange form completes the M and, on its own, reads as an A for Advisors, which is why it ships as the standalone Advisor icon.

Rules

  • Orange is an accent only: the monogram, one key call to action, or one highlighted word per view.
  • Never use orange for small text on white or on indigo. It passes contrast only at large display sizes (24px, or 19px bold, and up).
  • Body text is indigo or near-black on white, or white on indigo.
  • Buttons with white labels fill in Action Orange (#D63A14), not Brand Orange: white on Brand Orange is only 3.70:1.
  • Do not introduce gradients, glows or drop shadows on brand artwork (the logo, icons and pattern). On the website, a soft indigo fade behind photographs and Miles's contact shadow are the only exceptions, and the client still has to confirm them.
  • Standardize any #F05323 to #F04923. #F05323 is a known duplicate in one source file.

Single-plate K82 for the one-color logo and fine strokes. For large solid panels use rich black C60 M50 Y50 K82. Avoid K100.

Imagery and icons

Imagery · complete

Images support the idea; they never carry the logo.

Signature motifDark indigo world map with glowing orange network connections and a faint keyword cloud (value, pricing strategy, go-to-market, evidence-based decisions, the right price, data-driven).
PhotographyCandid documentary photographs of today's B2B software teams at work. Caught mid-task: nobody poses, nobody looks at the camera, nobody shakes hands.
PeopleEveryday clothes (sweaters, overshirts, plain tees, jeans, trainers). Mixed ages and backgrounds. No suits, no ties.
PlacesReal working offices with ordinary clutter: cables, mugs, coats on chairs, worn laptops. No glass boardrooms or skyline views.
SubjectsTeams reviewing results together; A growing office; Working sessions at a wall of notes; Customer conversations; A buyer choosing a plan
LightingNatural window light, usually from the right. Slight grain, imperfect framing.
ColorMuted, natural colour with cool neutrals that sit well under indigo. Orange only by chance (one sticky note, one mug).
Composition16:9 for page heroes. The left third stays darker and calm for the headline; people and action sit in the right half.
TreatmentOn the website, photographs stay in full colour under Brand Indigo multiplied at 40% plus a 10% indigo veil, so shadows lean indigo while skin, denim and wood keep their colour. The headline side is deepened with Deep Indigo so white type reads. Never a full indigo monotone.
PlacementHome hero (one photograph per rotating headline ending), and the Approach, Expertise and Connect page headers. Never on About, Culture or team pages: generated people there would read as Miller's own staff.
AvoidBusiness suits, ties and handshakes; Posed smiles or anyone looking at the camera; Glossy stock or obviously AI looks (perfect skin, HDR, lens flare); Readable text, logos or brand names in the image; Glass boardrooms and city skylines; Green, teal or magenta accents

Prompt template

Fill only the bracketed slots. The rest is the fixed style block: it is what makes a new photograph belong to the set. Never put text or a logo in a generated image.

Candid documentary photograph of [SCENE: who, doing what, where], 16:9.
In the right half of the frame, [PEOPLE: two or three people, their age and everyday clothes, the moment they are caught in].
[DETAILS: real objects in the room, any screen or wall shown soft and out of focus with no readable text].
The left third of the frame is darker and uncluttered: [LEFT SIDE: a plain wall, a column or a doorway in shadow].
Natural window light from the right, muted natural colours with cool neutral tones. 35mm lens at eye level, shallow depth of field, slight film grain, imperfect off-centre framing. Nobody looks at the camera.

Avoid: business suits, ties, handshakes, posed smiles, people looking at the camera, glossy stock-photo look, perfect skin, glass boardroom, city skyline, lens flare, HDR, saturated colours, readable text, logos, brand names, floating graphics, extra fingers.
Worked example · Delivers Growth
Candid documentary photograph inside a mid-sized software company office, 16:9. In the right half of the frame, three colleagues stand around a wall-mounted monitor in a casual review: a woman in her forties in a grey crewneck sweater gestures toward the screen with a pen, a man in his thirties in an open overshirt and jeans holds a laptop against his chest, a younger colleague in a plain tee leans on a desk listening. The monitor shows a soft, out-of-focus line chart trending upward, no readable text or numbers. The left third of the frame is darker and uncluttered: a plain wall in shadow and the blurred edge of a desk. Real office details: cables, a coat on a chair, coffee mugs, a laptop with worn stickers. Natural window light from the right, slightly overcast, muted natural colours with cool neutral tones. Shot on a 35mm lens at eye level, shallow depth of field, slight film grain, imperfect off-centre framing, a little motion blur in one hand. Nobody looks at the camera.
Worked example · Captures Value
Candid documentary photograph of a working session at a software company, 16:9. In the right half, two colleagues stand at a glass wall covered in handwritten sticky notes arranged in three loose columns, like three product plans being sorted. A man in his fifties in a navy quarter-zip sweater moves one note from the middle column to the right column; a woman in her thirties in a striped long-sleeve tee stands beside him with a marker, mid-sentence. Most notes are pale yellow and blue, a single one is orange. The handwriting is out of focus and unreadable. On the table in the foreground: printed sheets with pen marks, a laptop, two coffee cups, all softly blurred. The left third of the frame is the darker end of the room: an unlit wall and the edge of a doorway. Soft daylight from a window on the right, muted natural colours with cool neutrals. 50mm lens, shot slightly from the side through the foreground clutter, shallow depth of field, slight film grain, a little crooked. Nobody looks at the camera.

How they are built

ConstructionOutline only. No filled shapes, no background plate, no shadow.
StrokeEven weight throughout a single icon, drawn as filled outline paths (not strokes), so the icon scales without weight shift.
CornersRounded ends and joins, matching the roundness of the Raleway letterforms.
ArtboardSquare, 512 x 512. Every icon in the set is centred on that grid, so they line up at any size.
ColorTwo colors. A base that carries the drawing, and Brand Orange on the one part that carries the meaning. On white, paper and mist the base is Brand Indigo; on indigo, indigo deep and photography the base is White. The orange never changes with the background.
AccentOne idea per icon, never more. The accent is the thing the icon is about: the bulb, the gear, the star, the rising arrow. Everything supporting it stays in the base color, so the orange keeps its value.
Scale24px minimum on screen. Below that the outlines close up.
PairingOne icon per idea, at one size, on a consistent baseline. Never mix these with icons from another set.

Pattern · approved

The M pattern

A single tile built from the monogram's own outline, interlocking so the M repeats without a visible seam. It is the brand's texture: it fills space and signals the brand at a glance, without ever standing in for the logo.

The M pattern, construction and application
The tile is the monogram's own outline. It interlocks with its neighbours, so a plain repeat has no seam.

ConstructionOne tile, 189 x 215, drawn as hairline strokes with no fill. The outlines run off all four edges and meet their neighbours exactly, so a plain repeat is seamless.

SVGassets/patterns/pattern-tile-white.svg — screen and print
PNGassets/patterns/pattern-tile-white.png — only where SVG is unsupported

Rules

  • Use the SVG on screen and in print. It is a few kilobytes and stays sharp at any size.
  • Use the PNG only where SVG is not supported, such as older email clients.
  • Repeat the tile. Never scale one tile up to fill a space, and never crop it to fit.
  • Hold it back with opacity so type and the logo always read first.
  • One colourway per surface. Never mix white and indigo tiles in the same field.
  • Never recolor the strokes outside the palette, and never fill the shapes.
  • Never place the logo directly on top of a dense area of the pattern. Give it clear space or fade the pattern behind it.
  • The pattern is texture, not a logo. It never replaces the mark.

Miles, the portal guide

Miles is the guide inside the Miller Advisors client pricing portal. On the website he introduces the portal's tools and keeps visitors company in the footer. He is a guide, not the face of the firm: the firm's people and its pricing expertise stay the headline.

Miles standing
NameMiles, short for Milestones
RolePortal guide. He shows the way, celebrates progress and points at what matters. He never speaks for the firm, gives advice or quotes numbers.
Personalityhelpful, calm, curious, quietly playful
OrangeBrand Orange appears in two places only: the face pixels and one thin ring on each ear disc. No glowing chest circle, no orange trim.

Miles, short for Milestones, is the guide inside the client pricing portal. The Miller team named him; ADWORKS Canada evolved him into a clearly robotic character and built him in 3D for the website. He carries the brand the way the system does: white and indigo, with orange kept for the two places that matter, his eyes and his ears. He helps, points the way and celebrates progress. He never replaces the firm's people, and he never speaks for them.

Fly and point
Fly and pointWhile a footer menu link is hovered or focusedShows that page's glyph, lifts off like a superhero until only a sliver of helmet clears his box, leans toward the link and points. A laser runs from his fingertip to the word. His shadow shrinks as he rises; he lands when the cursor leaves.
LinkedIn wave
LinkedIn waveWhile a LinkedIn link is hovered or focusedShows the 'in' glyph and waves for as long as the link is hovered.
Milestone walk
Milestone walkThe home page section, driven by scrollWalks a line and stops at five milestone rings. At each stop his face shows that tool's glyph and the tool card appears. Phones get the same walk seen from the front.

Motion rules

  • The cursor moves his head and eyes only, never the camera.
  • Standing, the live 3D matches the still picture shown before it loads exactly, so nothing jumps when it fades in.
  • The 3D loads only when he is near the screen and stops drawing when he leaves it.
  • With reduced motion or no WebGL he is a still picture. Every action is decoration: nothing on the page depends on it.
  • The laser has a white-hot core with an orange glow, so it reads on orange and on indigo. One beam at a time, only while a link is hovered.
  • Clicks always pass through him. He never covers navigation, the header or a button.

Image prompts

Attach the client's original Miles render as a reference so proportions stay close. Keep the chest blank in every generated image; the real M is placed afterwards. These prompts made the concept art; the website build is the master for his look.

Hero concept · 4:5
Product render of a small friendly robot mascot, three-quarter front view, standing, full body. Same proportions as the reference image: very large rounded head, short compact body, short arms and legs.

Face: the entire face area is a flat-fronted dark indigo glass screen set into the helmet, slightly glossy. On the screen, two simple glowing orange pixel eyes made of visible square LED pixels, arranged as two upright rounded rectangles. No nose, no mouth, no skin, no beige.

Shell: glossy white ceramic panels on head and body with clean, precise panel seams and a few small flush fasteners.

Metal: the band framing the face screen, the round ear discs, the shoulder caps and hip caps are polished metallic indigo blue (#273B64), like anodised aluminium, with crisp studio reflections.

Joints: clearly mechanical exposed joints at neck, elbows, wrists, knees and ankles, in darker metallic indigo, with visible ball joints and pivot pins. Segmented robotic fingers. Hands and shoe soles are matte indigo rubber.

Orange (#F04923) appears in only two places: the pixel eyes and one thin glowing ring on each ear disc. No other orange anywhere.

Chest: a smooth, completely blank white chest plate. No logo, no letters, no symbols.

Lighting: soft studio lighting, large softbox reflections travelling across the metal parts, soft contact shadow. Plain pale grey seamless background (#F6F7FA). Sharp, high detail, premium industrial design, engineered but friendly.

Avoid: text, logos, letters, watermark, human face, skin, cute cartoon mouth, glowing stripes, chest light, rainbow reflections, chrome silver, gold, dirt, scratches, busy background.
Turnaround sheet · 3:2
Character turnaround sheet of the same robot mascot, four full-body views in a single row on a plain pale grey background (#F6F7FA): front view, three-quarter view, side view, back view. Neutral standing pose with arms slightly away from the body so the joints are visible. Identical design, proportions and scale in every view, feet aligned on one ground line, flat even studio lighting, no perspective distortion.

Design: very large rounded head, short compact body. The face is a flat-fronted dark indigo glass screen with two glowing orange square-pixel eyes. Glossy white ceramic shell with clean panel seams and small flush fasteners. Polished metallic indigo blue (#273B64) face band, ear discs, shoulder caps and hip caps. Exposed mechanical joints in darker metallic indigo at neck, elbows, wrists, knees and ankles, with visible ball joints and pivot pins. Segmented robotic fingers. Matte indigo rubber hands and soles. Orange (#F04923) only in the pixel eyes and one thin ring on each ear disc. Blank chest plate with no logo. The back view shows a plain white back panel with one round indigo metal cap.

Avoid: text, labels, logos, letters, watermark, human face, skin, mouth, glowing stripes, chest light, chrome silver, different poses per view, dramatic shadows.
Miles on indigo · 16:9
The same robot mascot walking from left to right along a thin white horizontal line, seen from the side at a slight three-quarter angle, mid-stride, full body, placed in the left third of the frame with wide empty space to the right. Deep indigo blue background (#273B64), flat and clean, slightly darker toward the edges.

Design: very large rounded head, short compact body. Dark indigo glass face screen with two glowing orange square-pixel eyes looking in the direction of travel. Glossy white ceramic shell with clean panel seams. Polished metallic indigo face band, ear discs, shoulder caps and hip caps, picking up bright rim light so they separate from the background. Exposed mechanical joints in darker metallic indigo. Matte indigo rubber hands and soles. Orange (#F04923) only in the pixel eyes and one ring on each ear disc. Blank chest plate with no logo.

On the white line ahead of him, three small evenly spaced round white markers. Soft studio lighting from the upper left, soft shadow under his feet. Minimal, premium, calm.

Avoid: text, labels, logos, letters, watermark, human face, skin, mouth, glowing stripes, chest light, stars, space scene, city, floor grid, lens flare, purple or teal tones.
