COG Developments plans residential communities in Nova Scotia's Annapolis Valley. COG Construction builds them. I designed a website for each company: two brands with their own character that still read as one family, and send visitors across to each other.

The concept
One company, two audiences.
COG is one company with two kinds of client, so each website is designed for the people it has to win. COG Developments talks to families and community partners. Its site is the warmer and softer of the two: cream and blush tones, a classic serif, rounded cards and photographs of people at home.
COG Construction talks to clients who need something built properly. Its site is stronger and more direct: a near-black page, tall condensed type, square panels, one bright green for every action and photographs of structures instead of people.
Both keep the COG name up front, and each site links to the other, so a visitor who lands on the wrong company is one click from the right one.

COG Developments
Warm and soft, built around people.
Real estate development: residential communities and multi-family projects, starting with Hibou's Knoll in Kentville. The slogan sits in a large serif over a family on their porch, and further down the page a faint line drawing of the homes runs behind rounded cards.

COG Construction
Strong and direct, built around the work.
General contracting across the Annapolis Valley: residential, multi-unit and commercial builds, plus project management. Headlines stand tall and condensed on a near-black page, panels are square, and green marks every place a visitor can act, starting with the free estimate.
Home. The builder's answer to the developer's slogan, set beside the current project.
What we do. A slate panel against a night photograph, with the four services listed.
Residential construction. The building takes half the screen and the headline the other.
How they connect
Development, construction, then community.
The developer's home page spells out how the two companies work together: development, construction, partnership and community, in that order. COG Construction Ltd. is listed among COG Developments' partners, and the builder's slogan answers the developer's.
